FoldiTable

#Productdesign #Workspace #FoldingTable

The second semester at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is dedicated to creating design solutions for a creative work environment, such as ateliers at the campus, where students get their own workspace for each semester.

»Foldi.Table« is a studio table developed for students and people in creative work environments. We focussed on two main requirements for our design: mobility and modular storage space.

1| Mobility:
A creative work environment has to be functional with the aim to serve the users needs. »FoldiTable« is built to be super lightweight and can therefore be carried by one person. To make the installation as easy and fast as possible, the metal parts of the legs just need to be attached to the two catchers.

2| Modular storage space:
A notch is included on three sides of the table, keeping the optical impact small while providing maximum functionality. If wanted, the user can use the notch to adapt our modular box system for mobile and individual storage preferences. Through sliding, the boxes position can be changed any time to the users preference.

The table was built by Laura and myself in the university’s workshops. The 3d animations were made by myself (2020).
