The »Bean Cup« is a porcelain coffee cup designed for a traditional coffee roastery in Weimar, Germany. Created within a two-week project, the task was to develop a cup tailored to a specific location — in this case, a place rooted in craftsmanship and local coffee culture.

The coffee bean’s shape became the central design inspiration, especially for the handle. It was developed as a 3D model, then 3D printed and used to create a three-piece mold for slip casting. The cup’s body was kept minimal and shaped by hand on the turntable, striking a balance between digital precision and tactile craft. The final form was designed to sit comfortably in the hand and ensure stackability — making »Bean Cup« both distinctive and practical.
