The goal of the project was creating a modular and adaptable visual identity based on a brand of choice. The aim was to explore system-based design for dynamic content across various formats and platforms.
Disclaimer: This is a fictional student project and was not created in collaboration with or commissioned by RIMOWA.
As a fictional concept, the project reimagines a motion identity for the German luggage brand »RIMOWA«. Inspired by the brand’s minimalist aesthetic and iconic grooved surfaces, the goal was to create a modular motion system that could be used in marketing, editorial and social media contexts. Typography, movement and layout were developed to reflect themes of travel, precision and modern luxury.
The project began with visual research, brand analysis and early experiments in After Effects. A key focus was on creating rules for combining basic graphic elements – such as the wordmark, lines and typographic structures – into dynamic compositions.
Through extensive prototyping and testing, the system evolved into a modular design framework. Using grids, reusable motion modules (precomps) and consistent layout logic, the final motion poster was built as a flexible template.
Key animations, including title reveals and information transitions, were designed to work both within the poster and independently across media.
